RREGOP – Quebec government and public employees
Quebec
Full pension and early retirement
You get a full pension, with no reduction, at the first of these:
- Age 61
- 35 years of service
- 90 points from age 60
Points are your age plus your years of service.
- Earliest retirement
- Age 55
- Retiring earlier
- The plan quotes your reduced pension for each date
- Bridge benefit
- Until age 65, reduced with the pension if you retire early
- Increases after you retire
- 50% of inflation
What retiring early costs: an example
RREGOP's rules differ from member to member, such as by when service was earned, so there is no single example here. Your plan's statement or its estimator gives your pension for each date you could retire.
What to copy from your paperwork
To use your own numbers in the income timeline:
Your Statement of Participation from Retraite Québec gives an estimated pension for up to three dates: the earliest with a reduction, the earliest without one, and 65. Each has an amount until 65 and a lower one from 65. Enter each date's age with both amounts. This tool takes them as today's dollars, without future pay raises.
RREGOP's own estimator: Retraite Québec's pension estimate, in My Account.
